Our patio door thresholds have been designed to offer easy entrances and exits through widespan PVCu sliding doors. They feature a low threshold of just 20mm to make it easy to transition between the indoors and outdoors.
Manufacturing and fitting patio door thresholds from MI Products has been made easier thanks to the clever design which incorporates internal end caps for a quicker start to end process.
Our patio door thresholds are also supplied with an auxiliary ramp to enable wheelchair access. Not only is this beneficial for wheelchair users, but it makes the feature family friendly for pushchair users too. This means that the whole family can enjoy the patio feature and outdoor area. For patio doors that are used as porches, this also makes entering and exiting the home easier for all. Because of this easy of accessibility, our patio door thresholds meet Part M in Building Regulations.
Using a combination of aluminium and PVCu makes the thresholds strong and durable, to withstand the high-volume use of a patio door. This is ideal if the patio door is installed leading out onto the garden as traffic will increase considerably during the summer months, and if the patios are installed as a front porch, suitable for everyday use. This helps to ensure security, as the threshold won’t fail and compromise the safety and finish of the patio door.
Patio doors are largely chosen so that homeowners can appreciate the outdoor views of the garden and beyond, however by using MI Products’ patio door thresholds, you can ensure that the outdoor elements will be kept at bay. They have been successfully tested to BS6375: 1 and 2 and achieved a pass at 150 Pa on water tightness, to work with the patio door to protect homes from the wind and rain. For extra protection, all of the profile related end caps contain a unique drainage channel together with a centrally concealed drainage manifold in the sill, so that full successful drainage is achieved, preventing leaks.
